If you aren’t familiar with Baker’s Sugar, it’s an ultra-fine grain sugar. Not as fine as powdered sugar but not as coarse as regular white granulated sugar.

If you can’t find Baker’s Sugar you could try using regular granulated sugar. I can’t guarantee the outcome as I have never tried it but I think it would be a better alternative than using powdered sugar.

Sorbet contains just fruit and sugar whereas Ice Cream must contain dairy. The USDA requires Ice Cream to have a minimum of 10% milk fat. The process of making each is very different.

Sorbet is very popular in upscale restaurants and is often used as a palate cleanser in between courses so flavors aren’t “mixed together” during a long dinner.

You can use frozen peaches if fresh peaches are not in season or not available at your local grocery store. This sorbet requires a 4:1 ratio of peaches to baker’s sugar.

The beauty of this homemade sorbet recipe is that you can pretty much use any fruit you want. Mangos, Blueberries, Strawberries or any other type of fruit you can get your hands on. Especially easy if you decide to use frozen fruit instead of fresh fruit.
