The use of Salsa is what makes this sloppy joe recipe super easy to make. Usually, you would need to add onions, garlic, etc. but since salsa has all those ingredients – Bam! Easy-peasy!

For the salsa, you can use whatever brand you want as well as whatever heat level you want. If you don’t like spicy food you might want to use a mild salsa but if you want your sandwiches to have a kick, grab a jar of spicy salsa!

I usually like to add a little cheese to my sloppy joes but since this is a Mexican-inspired recipe given we are using salsa, you can top your sandwiches with some sliced jalapeños, cilantro or even some sliced avocados.

I also recommend using lean ground beef for this recipe. This will minimize how greasy the meat will be. But you don’t want to go too lean as it will be very dry. An 85/15 mixture seems to be the sweet spot.
