What’s Thanksgiving without Turkey, stuffing and Cranberry Sauce? Especially Cranberry Sauce with Grand Marnier.

Sure you can just buy a can of cranberry sauce and call it a day but what fun is that? Since I obviously like to cook, it was imperative that I make my own delicious Cranberry Sauce.

Making a good Cranberry Sauce is pretty straightforward but I wanted something a little different.

As the title implies, this should only be consumed by adults as it does contain alcohol. While most of the Grand Marnier will burn off, you might just want to play it safe with this one.

If Grand Marnier is not your thing, I also have a great Cranberry Sauce with Whiskey recipe. Also not kid-safe. But this cranberry recipe is: Simple Orange Cranberry Relish. Great on Turkey sandwiches!

You will need the following ingredients to make this Cranberry Sauce with Grand Marnier recipe (see recipe card for quantities): White Sugar, Light Brown Sugar, Orange Juice, Orange Zest, Pumpkin Pie Spice, Cranberries and Grand Marnier.

  1. In a medium saucepan, dissolve both sugars, orange juice, orange zest and pumpkin pie spice over medium heat.
  2. Add cranberries and let cook for about 10 minutes until berries make a popping sound.
  3. Turn the heat to low and add Grand Marnier. Stir and let cook for another minute.
  4. Remove from heat and move to a bowl. The cranberry sauce will thicken up as it sits.

This Cranberry Sauce is to die for. Great on chicken and turkey. Gives the poultry that extra flavour. Will make it again.
