On a recent trip to Las Vegas, we stopped for dinner at Bailiwick’s located in The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Since this is a food blog, I mainly plan on commenting about the food versus the restaurant itself.
Since we were a party of 5, this allowed us to try a bunch of different items from their menu. They offer 40 beers on draft and a selected range of specialty and limited craft bottled beers. Their menu includes small bites and large entrees featuring unique tastes (according to them).[su_sovrn_300x250]
First up are the appetizers. We ordered Sea Salt & Vinegar Chips with Buttermilk Bleu Cheese Dip, Giant Pretzel with Ale House Cheese Fondue and Bavarian Mustard, Reuben Egg Rolls (Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese) with 1000 Island Dip and Buffalo Chicken Wings. Here’s the breakdown:
Sea Salt & Vinegar Chips:
The Chips were good. A little better than what you would get out of a bag. We especially liked the dip that came with it. I might just have to replicate the dip so I can use it in other recipes.
Pretzel: The pretzel was pretty good. I would’ve enjoyed a little more salt on mine. Both the Bavarian Mustard and the Cheese Fondue that came with it were awesome. The Bavarian Mustard was really good. If you do happen to eat here, you need to try this appetizer.
Reuben Egg Rolls: We ordered these because we had never heard of Corned Beef in an Egg Roll. They weren’t bad but I don’t think I would order these again if I had the chance.
Buffalo Chicken Wings: Not much to say here. your garden variety Buffalo Wings. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse.
After we were done with our Appetizers and had a few cocktails, it was time for the main course. We ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (Bourbon BBQ Sauce), Angus Beef Sliders, Buffalo Chicken Sliders, Chicken Shiitake Garlic Noodles and a Loaded Hot Dog.
BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger: A great burger cooked to perfection. The Bourbon BBQ Sauce was especially delicious.
Angus Beef Sliders: These sliders were great. The potato slider rolls worked really well for these sliders.
Buffalo Chicken Sliders: These sliders were hot! Not temperature hot but spicy hot. While delicious, they are super spicy. You’ve been warned!
Chicken Shiitake Garlic Noodles: This was especially delish! While not what we expected, this one is a keeper.
Loaded Hot Dog: This is one HUGE Hot Dog. It’s so big and there is so much stuffing that we could only eat everything but the bun. But if you are really hungry and love Chili Dogs, this one is for you.
All in all, the food was really good. Drinks are expensive ($16 for an Old Fashioned?) unless it’s Happy Hour. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We think our waiter just had too many tables. In the end, I would recommend this restaurants to family and friends.
