The beauty of this batter is that you can use it to deep fry other things besides onion rings. I recently used it for fish and they turned out great! If you don’t like ketchup to dip your onion rings in, try my French Fry Dipping Sauce.

While you are at it, make sure you make a batch of my Secret Burger Sauce to put on your Hamburgers or my Sweet Mustard to put on your Hot Dogs. Like a little kick with your mustard? You have to try my Jalapeno Mustard recipe.

When it comes to Deep Frying food you want to choose an oil that has a high smoke point and neutral in flavor so it won’t affect the flavor of whatever you are frying. Vegetable Oil, Corn Oil, Canola Oil and Peanut Oil are some of the more popular and affordable options.

  1. This was the first time I had ever made onion rings. They turned out perfectly. They were a big hit with neighbours that came for a BBQ. A keeper in my family.
