Pineapple Sauce for Ham

I really wanted to make something a little different to go with this New Year’s honey-baked ham we were having for dinner.

I could’ve taken the easy way out and offered up some kind of gourmet mustard but what fun is that? In the end, I decided to make this Pineapple Sauce for Ham.

Not only does this pineapple sauce go great with baked ham, but it’s also super easy to make.

I’ve made it an hour before heading over to my mother-in-law’s for Thanksgiving dinner.

Yes, it’s that quick and easy to make. And the best part is this recipe only requires 6 simple ingredients!

You most likely already have all the ingredients in your pantry except possibly the cans of crushed pineapples. If you have cans of sliced pineapples you can chop them up or even pulse them in your food processor.

  3. This is delicious. We tweaked it a bit with a little extra mustard because we love mustard but this is the beauty of this recipe. It is easily adjustable to personal preferences.

      1. Just made this and it was delicious, I didn’t use it all and as I live alone was wondering if it could be frozen, as in small ziploc freezer bags?

      2. I made this tonight with baked gammon, fine green beans and new potatoes and it was a hit with my four lads!

  4. I’m not a big fan of ham or pineapple. But I made this anyway. Spectacular! Followed exactly as written. Ham with pineapple sauce is now on the favorites list.

  5. I made this pineapple sauce to eat with him that I had made for a family get together. As I was making it I realized I did not have any brown sugar but I did have Splenda brown sugar and that is what I used. There was no difference in the texture of of the sauce it turned out perfectly. I also doubled the sauce because I was afraid I would not have had enough for everyone because I know everyone that was at the table love pineapples. It was delicious. I had made the sauce the day before and kept it in a airtight container and it was fine. This is my new go to when I cook a ham.

    1. No reason why you can’t experiment with a little ground cloves. They have a strong taste so I would start by adding very little and doing a taste test. Maybe start with 1/8 teaspoon for starters and working your way up from there.

  6. I made this pineapple sauce today for a company that was coming for supper. It is so easy to make. The only change I did was I did not have the Dijon mustard so I use regular mustard. There seem to be no difference. Everyone just loved it. I will truly make it again. Hats off to hotrodsrecipes for this very delicious recipe.
