This lime crema recipe takes less than 5 minutes to make with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!
I really do enjoy making these quick sauce recipes. It doesn’t require too much planning in advance and if you have the ingredients on hand, you can whip it up in minutes.
This Garlic Lime Crema goes perfectly with my Instant Pot Carnitas or my Slow Cooker Mexican Carnitas. But if you want the most delicious tacos you have ever eaten, use this recipe as a topping on my Honey Bourbon Street Tacos!
You are probably wondering why I am calling this a crema instead of a sauce. Well out of respect for its origin of Mexico, I am going to call it a crema.
UPDATE: I was making some fish tacos for dinner one night using some Cod fillets and needed a creamy sauce to go with them.
Turns out I didn’t have enough sour cream on hand so I used some Crema Mexicana by Cacique as a substitute.
If you do substitute the sour cream for the crema I would recommend using less milk. Just use enough until you reach the desired consistency.
If you prefer something with a little more kick for your tacos, I suggest you try my Habanero Avocado Cream Sauce
