I love these Delicious Donut Muffins. They are great for breakfast, lunch or even dessert! It’s amazing how this simple recipe actually tastes like cinnamon sugar-coated donuts.

These muffins are very similar to my Cinnamon Donut Bread. But if you are looking for another delicious muffin recipe you need to try my Brown Sugar Muffins as well.

For those of you who like a lot of cinnamon sugar on their donuts, make sure you double the topping recipe below (minus the butter unless you need it). Personally, I like them just the way they are but feel free to experiment. That’s what cooking is all about!

Be mindful that this recipe only makes 6 muffins. Which is great if you are baking for 1 or 2 people. If you need to make a dozen muffins simply double the ingredients.

Another delicious cinnamon-sugar-based recipe is my “famous” Cinnamon Sugar Beaver Tails. I say famous because for the longest time it was my most popular recipe. And to this day always in my top 5 most viewed recipes.

TOPPING INGREDIENTS
  • ¼ Cup Unsalted Butter, Melted
  • ½ Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven to 375°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix sugar, butter and nutmeg. Stir in milk, then add baking powder and flour until combined.
  • Fill greased muffin cups about half full. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let muffins cool slightly before removing them from the muffin tin.

Notes

Try to let the muffins cool as much as possible before adding the topping. If the muffins are too hot they will act like a sponge when you dunk them in the butter.
