Make a delicious Chicken and Avocado Mayo Wrap using leftover chicken and ripe avocados. A tasty and easy recipe for a quick meal.
We all know how quickly Avocados can turn on you. One day they are unripe and the next day they are mushy and blackened.
I had a few avocados I really needed to use and some leftover chicken so I made this delicious Chicken and Avocado Mayo Wraps.

Choosing the wrong avocado will ruin your dish. Especially when the avocado is the main ingredient like in Guacamole. Basically, you want a perfectly ripe Avocado. This is a great article on How to Select the Perfect Avocado.
How to Soften Tortillas
When the time comes to warm up your tortillas, you have a few options. You can wrap the tortillas in foil and bake them for 10 minutes at 350°F.
You can also put them in a non-stick pan to heat both sides of the tortilla (this is how I usually do it), heat them over an open flame, or if you must, wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave them for about 30 seconds.
Recipe Variation
You can easily customize these wraps by adding some of your favorite ingredients to the chicken mixture such as chopped bacon, green onions or even a little diced jalapeño.
You also have a nice selection of tortilla wraps you can use. For this recipe I used sun-dried tomato wraps but you can use whatever you prefer like regular wraps, spinach wraps or even low-carb wraps.
Ingredient Substitution
You can use sour cream instead of the mayonnaise if you are not a fan of the taste of mayonnaise.

Gather your Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients to make this Chicken and Avocado Mayo Wrap recipe. For ingredient amounts please refer to the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Avocado – Make sure they are ripe
- Mayonnaise – Use a good quality Mayonnaise
- Chicken – You can also use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken
- Salt and Pepper – To taste
- Tomato – Small tomato like a Roma tomato
- Flour Tortilla – Make sure to use the thin tortilla wraps to make it easier to roll
How to Make Chicken and Avocado Mayo Wrap
- In a bowl, mash the avocado. Fold in the mayonnaise and chopped chicken. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add chopped tomato to combine.
- Place a tortilla wrap on a flat surface. Spoon the chicken and avocado mixture on top of the wrap down the center.
- Roll up tightly, tucking in both ends as you go along.
- Slice diagonally into halves before serving.

- 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1 Cup Chicken, cooked and chopped
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- 1 small Roma Tomato, chopepd
- 1 large Flour Tortilla, warmed
Instructions
- In a bowl, mash the avocado. Fold in the mayonnaise and chopped chicken. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add the chopped tomato and combine.
- Place a tortilla wrap on a flat surface. Spoon the chicken and avocado mixture on top of the wrap down the center.
