A super simple recipe for making Beef Tostadas at home. Great recipe for those busy week nights when you need to feed the family.
    easy beef tostadas

These Beef Tostadas are super easy to make. The only thing easier than making tostadas is making tacos. Actually, Tostadas remind me of flat hard tacos.

This tostada recipe is about as basic as you can get. It is so versatile that you can use, omit, or substitute almost every single ingredient included with this recipe except for the tostada shell itself.

You could easily substitute the ground beef for some ground turkey. Instead of using a yellow onion, you could add some diced green chilies to the meat mixture once cooked.

If you don't have any tostada shells on hand, don't worry. You can crisp up some corn tortillas in the oven or an air fryer if you have one. You could also fry them up in a skillet with some oil. In a pinch, you could use flour tortillas but you really won't be staying true to authentic tostadas.

And finally, when it comes to the toppings, make it the way you like it! Use some Garlic Lime Crema instead of sour cream. Add some diced tomatoes or try some crumbled queso fresco instead of shredded cheese.

When using refried beans in a recipe, I like to add a teaspoon of taco seasoning to add a little more flavor. I started doing this when I first started making my Corn Burritos with Red Sauce but this is totally optional. I can simply use the beans right out of the can if you want.
