    Honey Raisin Loaf with Walnuts

Growing up I used to eat Raisin Bread all the time. There's just something about the flavor that I really enjoyed as a young kid. To this day I still enjoy a piece of toasted raisin bread. This Honey Raisin Loaf with Walnuts is not bread but packed full of flavor and does not disappoint!

    🥜 Nut Allergies

This recipe may contain peanuts or other nuts and seeds as one of its ingredients. Please take the appropriate precautions.

    Honey Raisin Loaf with Walnuts

If you don't like nuts or have an allergy, you can leave them out of this recipe. It won't drastically change the flavor of this delicious raisin bread. As you can see in the pictures, I left the walnuts out as I was making this loaf for a friend of mine with a severe nut allergy.

While this raisin loaf does not contain any alcohol, it does contain rum extract. This may be an issue for individuals trying to avoid the taste of alcohol. While a key ingredient for this recipe, if you must substitute it I would suggest Vanilla Extract. Keep in mind that it will change the flavor profile of this raisin loaf.

    💭 Recipe Tip

Don't you hate it when raisins get stuck together in a big clump? To unstick the raisins, wet your hands with a little water then work the raisins apart.

Don't be surprised when you add the Baking Soda to the raisin mixture. It will fizz a bit. This is normal. And yes you do keep the water the raisins marinated in. The batter will be quite liquidy at this point. Especially after you mix in the milk.
