Homemade Apple Pie Moonshine in your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. It doesn’t get much better than that!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I am constantly amazed at what I can make in my Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. I’m even more amazed now that I’ve made Apple Pie Moonshine in it.
One of my guilty pleasures was watching the show Moonshiners a few years back. I was fascinated with the science and technique used to make moonshine. When I heard that I can make ‘shine in my Instant Pot, I just had to try it!

Please take into consideration that some of the alcohol in this recipe may not completely burn off and the remains could be of significant concern to recovering alcoholics, parents, and others who have ethical or religious reasons for avoiding alcohol.
I’m more of a Whiskey man myself so since this recipe makes quite a bit of moonshine, I decided to give mason jars full of this apple pie moonshine away as Christmas gifts to family and friends. Everybody can use a little Holiday Cheer.
I’m going to assume that you already know what moonshine is if you are reading this post. Moonshine is basically homemade high alcohol content booze traditionally bottled in a mason jar. It was made illegally without oversight from the Government. It was very popular in Southern culture.
How Strong is Moonshine
The beauty of making your own moonshine is that you can control how strong it is. This moonshine recipe is not very strong. I recently gave away 10 mason jars as gifts and the feedback I got was all over the place. Some found it a little strong while others said they could not taste the alcohol.
I suggest you do a taste test with the quantities listed below and adjust to your liking. Don’t overdo it as the Everclear Grain Alcohol can creep up on you.
Instant Pot Pressure Cooker

Please keep in mind that unlike most other recipes you make in your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker, this apple pie moonshine will take quite a bit of time to come up to pressure give the amount of liquid in the pot.
Expect at least 30 minutes to pressurize before the 45-minute countdown begins. Additionally, the natural pressure release can take upwards of 45-50 minutes.

Gather your Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients to make this Apple Pie Moonshine recipe in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker (see recipe card for quantities): Apple Juice, Unsweetened Apple Cider, White Sugar, Light Brown Sugar, Everclear Grain Alcohol, Caramel Vodka, Cinnamon Sticks and Pumpkin Pie Spice.
How to Make Apple Pie Moonshine
- Add the apple cider and apple juice to the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.
- Stir in the white sugar, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Add in 4 cinnamon sticks. Turn on the sauté mode to start heating the mixture.
- Once all the sugars are dissolved, place the lid on the Instant Pot and seal.
- Set your Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 45 minutes. Once done, let the pressure naturally release.
- Let the mixture cool completely. Stir in the Everclear Grain Alcohol and the caramel Vodka.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks from the pot that was used during the cooking process. Strain the mixture through some cheesecloth to remove any solids.
- Fill the mason jars with the apple pie moonshine. Place one cinnamon stick in each mason jar and close the lid tightly.

Instant Pot Apple Pie Moonshine
Ingredients
- 64 oz Apple Juice
- 64 oz Unsweetened Apple Cider
- ¾ cup White Sugar
- ¾ cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 ½ cups Everclear Grain Alcohol
- 1 ½ cups Caramel Vodka
- 14 Cinnamon Sticks, divided
- 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1 Apple, cored & sliced
Instructions
