I was hosting a small party recently with several kids attending. We couldn’t agree on pizza or hot dogs so I made them some delicious Pizza Hot Dogs!

I think this is a great recipe for when you are having a bunch of kids over. Quick and easy to make!

I’m sure most of you don’t bother with this but to ensure that your Hot Dog is properly cooked, the internal temperature should be at least 140°F. Easily checked with a digital thermometer.

As far as how you cook your hot dogs, that’s up to you. You can boil them, fry them or even make them this way Air Fryer Hot Dogs.

Serve these awesome hot dogs with potato chips, french fries, baked beans or even some coleslaw. You might want to serve it with a little more pizza sauce for those who like it saucy!

You will need the following ingredients to make this Pizza Hot Dog recipe (see recipe card for quantities):

  • Hot Dogs & Buns – Use your favorite brand
  • Pizza Sauce – Store-bought or my homemade pizza sauce
  • Pepperoni – You can use regular pepperoni or turkey pepperoni
  • Garlic Butter – You can use regular butter if needed
  • Mozzarella Cheese – If you must substitute, just make sure you use a good melting cheese
  • Italian Seasoning – This is optional. I just like the added flavor with this spice

How to Make Pizza Hot Dogs

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Spread the garlic butter on both sides of the inside of the hot dog buns. Top with each bun with pizza sauce.
  3. Place a cooked hot dog in each bun and top with mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning (if using) and pepperoni.

  4. Place in the oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bun is toasted.

  • 4 Hot Dogs, cooked
  • 4 Hot Dog Buns
