slow cooker diabetic asian turkey chili

I love making all kinds of Gourmet Chili. But this is the first time I use Hoisin sauce as an ingredient for this Asian Turkey Chili recipe that is easily made the slow cooker and as a bonus is Diabetic friendly.

Besides the Hoisin Sauce, this chili recipe includes all the usual ingredients you come to expect in a chili except possibly for the Dry Sherry.

I often use alcohol in my chili but usually I use beer. Using a cooking wine like Dry Sherry enhances the flavor of this dish.

Try to resist as much as possible the temptation to open the lid while it’s cooking as the slow cooker loses heat. By just opening the lid to stir the contents can make the internal temperature drop by 10°F to 15°F.
