I love Chinese chicken recipes, especially Orange Chicken and Cashew Chicken but this General Tso’s (pronounced JEN-uh-rull SOWZ) Chicken recipe is just as delicious. And even better, quick & easy to make in your Slow Cooker.
Now those of you already familiar with General Tso’s chicken are probably thinking, wait, isn’t it usually deep-fried? Well you would be correct. That being said, I decided to put my spin on it and make this recipe in my slow cooker.
How to Handle Raw Chicken
- Leave the chicken in the fridge until ready to use.
- Be careful of dripping juices. Clean up immediately.
- Do not wash raw chicken (prevents cross-contamination).
- Wash all utensils and cutting boards.
- I highly recommend wearing Disposable Food Safe Gloves when handling raw chicken
- If not wearing gloves, wash your hands after handling raw chicken.
Slow Cooker Tip
Try to resist as much as possible the temptation to open the lid while it’s cooking as the slow cooker loses heat. Just opening the lid to stir the contents can make the internal temperature drop by 10°F to 15°F.
Cook times may vary based on the slow cooker‘s brand, size, model, etc.
Serving Suggestions
.I like to serve this delicious chicken on a bed of rice like white rice, my Copycat Panda Express Fried Rice or my Takeout Style Chicken Fried Rice. You can garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions and for those of you who like heat, you can add more crushed red pepper flakes.
Using the Right Equipment makes a BIG Difference.
