Spicy Turkey Pita Pockets

If you love the taste of curry you will love these Spicy Turkey Pita Pockets. Super easy to make and packed full of flavor.

spicy turkey pita pockets

I had a couple of leftover pita pockets from another recipe and didn’t want them to go bad or put them in the freezer so I decided to make these Spicy Turkey Pitas.

What makes these pita pockets spicy is the combination of the curry simmer sauce, the chutney and the spicy peach salsa.

The beauty is you can adjust the amounts of each ingredient to dial in how spicy you want it. Which is also the reason the curry paste is totally optional.

What I really like about this recipe is not only how quick and easy it is to make, they are pretty healthy as well thanks to the main ingredient being lean ground turkey.

Someone once suggested that I could use turkey meatballs instead of ground turkey. I think that would be a good substitute but since I always have several pounds of ground turkey on-hand, I probably won’t have a chance to try it.

If you are going to make this recipe, just make sure you get the right kind of pitas. Not all pitas have pockets in them! Ever wonder how the pocket is made? It’s basically the steam during the baking process that creates the pocket in the pita.
