This recipe for White Pita Pizza with Prosciutto is a fun spin on the traditional pizza. Gourmet Pizza at its best!
I had some leftover pita bread from a hummus dish I made over the weekend so decided to make this White Pita Pizza with Prosciutto for dinner one night.
This pizza is not your classic pizza though as it does not use any red pizza sauce and is topped with a small green salad mixture.
I realize many of you don’t care for ricotta cheese, especially on your pizza (even though is it often used in authentic lasagna recipes) so if you fall in that group, you could always substitute for some white pizza sauce (usually heavy on garlic) or simply use a classic pizza or marinara sauce.
What is Prosciutto
If you are not familiar with Prosciutto it’s basically thinly sliced dry-cured ham. If you don’t have any on hand and don’t want to incur the expense of buying some for this recipe you could always substitute for some deli or maybe even some bacon.
Regardless of if you make this pizza recipe as-is or modify it to your tastes, this is a great way to make homemade personal-size pizzas for the whole family. And who doesn’t like their very own personal pizza?

These pizzas were very tasty. I did not use the ricotta cheese, but used a marinara sauce. The prosciutto ham made a big difference in the taste. Loved every bite.
