sweet and spicy mixed nuts

I love to make a batch of these Sweet & Spicy Mixed Nuts for those long road trips. In my case, when we go camping. It’s not unheard of that I will drive 4-5 hours in one day to get to our destination. So these Mixed Nuts come in really handy!

I recommend you use unsalted mixed nuts for this recipe as you will be adding several seasonings and if you use mixed nuts that are pre-salted, it might be a little too much salt when all is said and done.

You can also leave out the kosher salt listed in this recipe if you use salted mixed nuts.

If you really want to crank up the heat, I would suggest adding a little more cayenne pepper than listed in the recipe. But be careful when using cayenne, a little goes a long way! You have been warned!

The kind of mixed nuts you pick for this recipe is totally up to you as well. I have had good luck finding a 2-pound container of unsalted mixed nuts at a reasonably priced at Costco and Sam’s Club.

I love nuts, any kind of nuts. So I decided to try this recipe. There is nothing negative I can say about this recipe. The egg white makes these nuts shiny and the spices make them very tasty. A great idea to put them in a jar for gifts for hostess gifts. They are beyond delicious. They have a crunchy taste. Will make these time and time again.
