whiskey burger sauce

Not too long ago, I was at a local gourmet burger joint and had a burger with a delicious whiskey sauce. Obviously they wouldn’t give me the recipe but did share some of the key ingredients. I decided to recreate it at home and this is what I came up with.

It turned out pretty good and very close to what I had at the restaurant but I know I am missing a little something. I will have to do a little more experimenting when I have time to focus on this recipe. In any case, if you are looking for something a little different for your burgers, give this one a shot. You have nothing to lose!

You sure can. But I would not use the expensive stuff since you are going to reduce it and add combine it with other ingredients. Don’t waste the good stuff!

Do I really have to wait 1 hour before using this Sauce?

No! At a minimum let is sit for 10 minutes or so. The longer you let it sit, the more the flavors to meld together.

Of course! You can use it for steak or chicken sandwiches or as a dipping sauce for fries, onion rings or fried pickles. You can also use it in a breakfast burrito or on a loaded baked potato!

  1. This whisky sauce is great. I am not a fan of whisky but decided to give it a try. Was not very strong at all. Really enjoyed it.

  2. This didn’t taste too strong of whiskey, which was great. It had that special something that just keeps you coming back for more. I ended up dipping my fries in it.
