air fryer spicy french fries

My wife was nagging me to use up some russet potatoes we had. I was craving some French fries, so I decided to make them in my Air Fryer. I even added a little seasoning to make them extra spicy.

Even if you don’t have any russet potatoes on hand you can still make these fries in your Air Fryer using Yukon Gold potatoes. Both will crisp up nicely!

Not only is this a great recipe for making french fries, you can also adapt it to make potato wedges. Especially convenient if you don’t have a french fry cutter or your knife skills aren’t that great.

Just keep in mind that cook times will vary based on the thickness of the potatoes. If they are on the larger size I would start checking them around the 20 minute mark so you can determine how much longer they will need to cook.

One of the benefits of making french fries in the air fryer is it consumes less energy than an oven. And in most cases a bit quicker. The one thing that I don’t like is if you need to make a big batch and have a smaller Air Fryer, you will need to make them in batches. This could take a long time.

Tips

  • Increase the temperature of the Air Fryer to 400°F for the last 5 minutes or so to really crisp up the french fries.

I know some people will “complain” that these fries are not very spicy. That will be true for some but everyone has different tolerances for heat which is why I decided to call them spicy fries.
