Black Forest Pie

If you love Black Forest Cake then you need to try this Black Forest Pie recipe. All the flavors but super easy to make! Delicious!

black forest pie

I love Black Forest Cake. It’s one of my favorite desserts. I’ve previously published recipes for both a Black Forest Poke Cake and a Black Forest Cheesecake so I just had to try this Black Forest Pie recipe.

yummy black forest pie

Compared to the other Black Forest cake or pie recipes you will find out there, this one is super easy to make.

The longest part is waiting for it to set in the refrigerator once you get that yummy pie filling in the chocolate pie shell. At least 1 hour in the fridge. Longer if you can. Just plan ahead.

I am often asked if there is a good substitute if you don’t have any whipped topping (cool whip) on hand. Yes! You can use whipped cream in this recipe.

Or if you have some heavy whipping cream on hand you can use that by whipping it with your electric mixers.

I always have some Semi-Sweet Chocolate on hand so that’s what I used for this recipe but you can use any type of baking chocolate you have. Like I always say, use what you got!

Once the pie mixture has set, you can optionally garnish the top with a little more whipped cream, shaved chocolate curls and some maraschino cherries.

The end result is a fantastic light fluffy pie that tastes almost identical to a classic Black Forest Cake. Same taste but with a lot less work. If you love Black Forest Cake as I do, you must try this recipe.

This black forest pie is even better than the black forest cake. So delicious. It took no time at all to make and was scrumptious. Will make it again. Thanks to Chef Rodney for making this recipe a 15 on 10.
