I was in the mood for some pancakes and bacon so I decided to try this Chocolate Chip Pancake recipe from Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay.
Just like most other pancake recipes, this one calls for the same ingredients that you would expect in a pancake except the chocolate chips.
Recipe Tip
If you are going to make these pancakes ahead of time place the cooked pancakes on a baking sheet and place them in the oven at 250°F.
Serving Suggestions
You can serve these delicious chocolate chip pancakes however you want.
The traditional way is to drizzle some maple syrup over the top and add a pat of butter on top.
If you really want to take it up a notch how about drizzle some chocolate sauce over the pancakes and add a dollop of whipped cream?
I like my pancakes the traditional way with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs.

Gather your Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients to make this Chocolate Chip Pancakes recipe from Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay (see recipe card for quantities): All Purpose Flour, White Sugar, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Sea Salt, Eggs, Buttermilk, Unsalted Butter and Chocolate Chips.
How to Make Chocolate Chip Pancakes
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In another small mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk until smooth.
- Add the wet ingredients and the cooled melted butter to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and let the pancake batter rest for at least 20 minutes.
- Drop about 1/4 cup of batter into a heated skillet. Cook for a minute or two, until the batter browns on the bottom.
- Flip the pancakes and cook for a minute or two until the batter is completely cooked through and the pancakes are puffy and deep golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.

- 1 ½ Cups All Purpose Flour
- 3 Tbsp White Sugar
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- ½ Tsp Baking Soda
- ¾ Tsp Sea Salt
