Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes

There’s nothing better than these Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes for breakfast. Heck, they are also great for dinner. I love having breakfast for dinner.

If you don’t have Buttermilk on hand, you can use this trick as a substitute: Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to a measuring cup. Add milk and fill to the 1 cup measurement line. Stir the mixture together and let sit for 5 minutes. Since this recipe calls for 2 cups you will need to adjust accordingly.

Another option is to use a cultured buttermilk blend. All you need to do is add water. I was very skeptical at first but in a pinch it works great!

You will need the following ingredients to make this Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes recipe (see recipe card for quantities): All Purpose Flour, White Sugar, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt, Eggs, Buttermilk and Salted Butter.

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs. Whisk in buttermilk and melted butter. Stir flour mixture into the buttermilk mixture until just combined.
  3. Dollop 1/2 cup of the batter onto a greased skillet. Cook pancakes until bubbles rise to the surface and pop, about 2 minutes. Carefully flip the pancakes and cook for another 2 minutes.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • ¼ Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ Tsp Baking Soda
  • ¼ Tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • ½ cup Salted Butter, melted and cooled slightly

Instructions
