I love corn dogs. As much as I love them, I sure don't make them often enough. I recently took my nephew to Disneyland and we both had one of their corn dogs and it reminded me just how much I love them. Now you can make your very own Copycat Disneyland Corn Dogs at home!
The first thing you will notice if you've ever been to Disneyland and try this recipe is that they must use some sort of giant hot dog in theirs. My focus is more on their delicious batter than anything else. But if you know where to buy their weiners, let me know in the comments below.
💭 Cooking Tip
Make sure your oil reaches a temperature of 350°F. You will need a thermometer for this. Subsequently, do not let your oil go over 350°F as your batter will cook faster than the hot dog!

If you don't have Buttermilk on hand, you can use this trick as a substitute: Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to a measuring cup. Add milk and fill to the 1 cup measurement line. Stir the mixture together and let sit for 5 minutes.
💭 Can you freeze Corn Dogs
Yes you can freeze these corn dogs. Just let them cool completely after deep frying before placing them in a freezer bag. To reheat the corn dogs, bake them at 400°F for about 15 minutes.

You will need the following ingredients to make these Copycat Disneyland Corn Dogs: Yellow Cornmeal, All Purpose Flour, White Sugar, Salt, Baking Powder, Eggs, Honey, Buttermilk, Vegetable Oil and Hot Dogs.
🥣 How do I make these Copycat Disneyland Corn Dogs
In a large pot, heat the 4 cups of oil to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all purpose flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add the egg, honey, buttermilk and vegetable oil and until combined. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Insert a skewer into each hot dog. Pour the batter into a tall drinking glass and dip one dog at a time into the batter, then place it into the hot oil to fry.
Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining hot dogs.
