These Copycat Disney Corn Dogs are the real deal. If you love Disneyland’s Corn Dogs now you can make them in your very own kitchen. Yummy!
I love corn dogs. As much as I love them, I sure don’t make them often enough. I recently took my nephew to Disneyland and we both had one of their corn dogs and it reminded me just how much I love them. Now you can make your very own Copycat Disney Corn Dogs at home!
The first thing you will notice if you’ve ever been to Disneyland or Disneyworld and try this recipe is that they must use some sort of giant hot dog in theirs.
My focus is more on their delicious batter than anything else. But if you know where to buy their weiners, let me know in the comments below.
Cooking Tip
Make sure your oil reaches a temperature of 350°F. You will need a thermometer for this. Subsequently, do not let your oil go over 350°F as your batter will cook faster than the hot dog!
Copycat Rating
Since the goal of a Copycat Recipe is for it to taste exactly like the original, it’s only natural to rate this recipe against the original. This Copycat recipe rates a solid 9 out of 10 in my opinion.

Buttermilk Substitution
If you don’t have Buttermilk on hand, you can use this trick as a substitute: Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to a measuring cup. Add milk and fill to the 1 cup measurement line. Stir the mixture together and let sit for 5 minutes. Since this recipe calls for 3/4 cup you will need to adjust accordingly.
Another option is to use a cultured buttermilk blend. All you need to do is add water. I was very skeptical at first but in a pinch, it works great!
Can you freeze Corn Dogs
Yes you can freeze these corn dogs. Just let them cool completely after deep frying before placing them in a freezer bag. To reheat the corn dogs, bake them at 400°F for about 15 minutes.
Deep Frying Oils
When it comes to Deep Frying food you want to choose an oil that has a high smoke point and neutral in flavor so it won’t affect the flavor of whatever you are frying. Vegetable Oil, Corn Oil, Canola Oil and Peanut Oil are some of the more popular and affordable options.
