This Delicious Oven Cooked Barbecue Brisket recipe is the perfect choice for those that don’t have a smoker or when the weather doesn’t permit.
Ever want to make a Delicious Oven Cooked Barbecue Brisket because you don’t have a smoker or it’s too cold to BBQ outside? Well here’s the perfect recipe for you.
Now before I even get started, you must know that brisket takes between 45 to 60 minutes per pound to cook in the oven. I give a 15-minute buffer depending on how you like it cooked.
Since cuts of meat come in all different sizes, you WILL need to adjust your cooking time based on the weight of the brisket you buy. You need to do the math on this one.
Additionally, you will need to adjust the amount of seasoning accordingly depending on the weight of the brisket you use. It doesn’t have to be precise but if you are 1 or 2 pounds off of what I have listed on the recipe card, you will need to adjust.
A purist will absolutely HATE that this recipe calls for Liquid Smoke. Many believe it has an overwhelming, chemical taste.
If this applies to you, you need to come up with a substitute. Smoked Paprika appears to be the closest substitute. You decide.

How to Handle Raw Beef
- Thaw frozen ground beef on a plate on the lowest shelf of the refrigerator, to avoid dripping onto other foods.
- Keep raw and ready-to-eat meats separate.
- Wash hands thoroughly before and after handling raw ground beef. Wash cutting boards, bowls, and utensils used to prepare raw ground beef with hot soapy water and rinse well.
- Use separate plates to carry raw ground beef patties to the cooking area and cooked patties to the serving area.
- Use a Thermometer to ensure Ground Beef Reaches the Safely Cooked Internal Temperature of 160°F.

This recipe was so easy to make and was equally delicious. I had a hard time finding the liquid smoke but after several stores finally found it. The smoke gave it a very distinct flavour and I am glad I found it. The meat was delicious and very tender. Will make it again.
