Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Glazed Wings

I need to start making more chicken wings. Like these Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Glazed Wings. They are so easy to make, especially in a slow cooker, and a perfect snack food while watching the football game or the NASCAR race.

All you need to do is plan ahead a bit as these will take a minimum of 6 hours before they are ready to eat. In a pinch, you could cut the time in half if you cook them on high.

While not required, I like to use some tongs and toss the wings at the halfway point to ensure all of them get a chance to sit in the delicious honey glaze. Just make sure you do this as quickly as possible as the temperature drops quickly when the lid is open. Remember, if you're looking, it's not cooking!

When a recipe calls for garlic, I usually double it as I love garlic. If you are so inclined you might want to do the same. The combination of the honey and the garlic on these chicken wings are amazing.

The last 2 steps in this recipe are totally optional. Depending on the size of your slow cooker and other factors, the honey glaze may be too thin cooking is complete. I prefer a thick glaze so I usually thicken it up in a saucepan. Afterward, you can put them on a baking sheet and broil them for 3 to 5 minutes.

Try to resist as much as possible the temptation to open the lid while it's cooking as the slow cooker loses heat. By just opening the lid to stir the contents can make the internal temperature drop by 10°F to 15°F.
