The big game was coming up, and I wanted to make some delicious chicken wings for my guests. I wanted something easy to make since I was also preparing other appetizers. And guess what? I had this bottle of McCormick Pepper Seasoning sitting in my spice cabinet, just begging to be used. So, I decided to give it a try!
When it comes to cooking wings, you’ve got a bunch of choices. Since I was making a huge batch, I decided to skip the air fryer and slow cooker. My toaster oven would’ve been a good option, but it was too small to hold all the wings and it was way too chilly to grill them outside. So, I baked them in the oven instead.

When making wings, I like to give them a little toss in some olive oil before seasoning them. Many so-called experts on the internet claim this is not necessary but I prefer to use a binder. If you don’t then you can skip this step.
Another thing I like to do when making wings is to let the seasoned wings rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before cooking. This will help crisp them up. But make sure you don’t let them sit much longer than 1 hour to prevent bacterial growth.

Recipe Tips
- For a crispier skin, add a teaspoon of baking powder to the seasoning.
- The wings should reach an internal temperature of about 165°F.
Serving Suggestions
Try serving the wings with some celery sticks, carrot sticks, blue cheese or ranch dressing. Coleslaw and pasta salad are also good options. Or you can just eat them as-is with other delicious appetizers.
