These easy to make Spicy Chicken and Black Bean Tacos are simply delicious. If you love chicken tacos, you must try this chicken taco recipe.
Just a few ingredients and about 30 minutes of your tome which makes this taco recipe perfect for those busy weeknights.
This chicken taco recipe doesn’t require too many ingredients and should be ready in about 30 minutes. This recipe allows you to cook your chicken breasts using whatever method you prefer.
Depending on what I got going on I either bake the chicken breasts or use my Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. Just make sure the thickest part of the breasts reaches a minimum of 165°F.
I realize that calling this recipe “spicy” is very subjective. Since I eat a lot of spicy food, I didn’t find these tacos spicy at all. They do have a little zing to them, but not over-the-top spicy.
I almost didn’t want to use the word spicy but some of you might find these spicy. If you don’t want spicy and want to try this taco recipe I would suggest omitting the Chili Powder and Ground Cumin and simply season the chicken with some salt.
How to Handle Raw Chicken
- Leave the chicken in the fridge until ready to use.
- Be careful of dripping juices. Clean up immediately.
- Do not wash raw chicken (prevents cross-contamination).
- Wash all utensils and cutting boards.
- I highly recommend wearing Disposable Food Safe Gloves when handling raw chicken
- If not wearing gloves, wash your hands after handling raw chicken.
I usually prefer to have my tacos in a soft flour or corn tortilla, but this time decided to use hard taco shells. The use of hard shells is not a must for this recipe. Use whatever you have on hand. Hard, Soft, Corn of Flour. Use what you got!
How Many Tacos per Person
For planning purposes, you should plan for two tacos per person. Each taco will have approximately 2 ounces of meat plus toppings.
For reference, one pound of ground beef will yield about 14 ounces once cooked.
