The only thing I might like better than bacon is bourbon whiskey. Go figure that this jam recipe has 2 of my most favorite things in life? The only thing is this recipe uses bourbon-flavored syrup and does not contain any alcohol.

    💭 Ingredient Substitution

If you don't have any balsamic vinegar on hand you can substitute for an equal amount of Apple Cider Vinegar for this recipe.

This bacon bourbon caramel jam is great over crackers, on sandwiches, on burgers or even on toast. Since it doesn't contain any alcohol whatsoever, it's safe for the whole family to enjoy!

And don't throw away that bacon grease! Bacon is expensive and the grease is great for making Scrambled Eggs, Grilled Cheese, Popcorn and even hash browns. It can keep up to 3 months if properly stored in the refrigerator.

📋 What Ingredients do I need

You will need the following ingredients to make this Bourbon Caramel Bacon Jam recipe (see recipe card for quantities): Bacon, Sweet Onion, Garlic Cloves, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Nutmeg, Cayenne Pepper, Dijon Mustard, Torani Bourbon Caramel Syrup, Balsamic Vinegar and Salt.

🥣 How to Make Bourbon Caramel Bacon Jam

Using a large pot, cook the bacon until crispy, about 8 to 10 minutes, stirring often. Remove the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate. Discard all but 3 Tablespoons of the bacon grease.
Add the onions to the pot and cook in bacon fat until soft, about 3 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Return the bacon to the pot and add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, and Dijon. Stir until everything is incorporated.
Pour in the Torani Bourbon Caramel syrup and vinegar and salt, and stir to combine. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Uncover the pot and cook for another 30 minutes or until the liquid in the pot has thickened to a syrup-like consistency. Transfer the jam mixture to a food processor immediately after cooking and pulse until your desired consistency is reached.
Transfer the bacon jam to a mason jar and store in the fridge.
