One of the things I love about this Chorizo Cheese Bread recipe is just how easy it is to make. The reason for this is that it uses refrigerated bread dough from a tube (I use Pillsbury brand).

No need to make your own homemade bread dough which, while fun and rewarding, does take quite a bit more time. Between rising and roofing we are talking a couple of hours at best.

What is Chorizo
If you are not familiar with Chorizo, it’s spicy ground pork used in many Mexican dishes. Now while Chorizo tastes great, it isn’t very diet-friendly.
Chorizo is relatively high in protein, but it’s also high in calories, sodium and fat, making it something you shouldn’t consume often if you are trying to lose weight.

You can use whatever brand you like for the Hot Sauce component. Tabasco or Cholula are two popular options but I always have some Frank’s Hot Sauce on hand so that is what I use.

Ingredient Substitution
If you have a hard time finding refrigerated French bread (I use Pillsbury) you can use a tube of their pizza dough. Additionally, if chorizo is not your thing you can sub for some Soyrizo or even some ground turkey.
