I had some leftover pumpkin puree I needed to use up before it expired so decided to make this Pumpkin Chili.
Unlike my Slow Cooker Turkey Pumpkin Chili recipe, this one only takes an hour or so before it's ready to eat.
Unlike all my other Gourmet Chili Recipes, this one calls for some Chili Sauce as one of the ingredients.
For this chili recipe, I like to use Heinz brand Chili Sauce (no affiliation) but you can use whatever you have on hand.
💭 Ingredient Substitution
I always have a few cans of navy beans on hand but you can easily substitute for some Cannellini Beans, Great Northern Beans or even some Butter Beans.
You could also substitute the ground turkey for some ground beef or even some ground pork if you prefer. If you do go with ground beef just make sure it is as lean as possible.
💭 Serving Suggestions
Besides a nice side of warm cornbread, a dollop of sour cream along with some pumpkin seeds (pepitas) would be delicious.
Or you can go old school and top with your favorite shredded cheese and some crushed tortillas.
