garlic dill dipping sauce

The first time I had Garlic Dill Dipping Sauce was on a trip to the east coast of Canada at a restaurant called Harvey’s. It was so good I wanted to make my own when I got back home.

Technically this Dipping Sauce recipe should also be categorized as a Copycat Recipe since a restaurant inspired it. I will need to think about that one.

Tips

  • Let the sauce sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. This will allow all the flavors to meld. You can use it immediately, but the longer you let it sit in the refrigerator, the more flavorful it will be.

In addition to dipping your chicken tenders or french fries in this delicious dipping sauce, you can also use it to dip vegetables.

  • Mayonnaise – use a quality brand like Hellmann’s or Best Foods
  • Sour Cream – I like to use a light sour cream as it has up to 50% less fat
  • Fresh Dill Weed – the fresher the better
  • Fresh Lemon Juice – you can also use lemon juice out of a bottle if needed
  • Garlic Powder – adds a savory, mellow, and concentrated garlic flavor
  • Salt – a must for most recipes
  • Ground Black Pepper – Freshly Ground as much as possible
