I was recently asked to bring a side dish to a BBQ my extended family was having. I had some leftover pulled pork I needed to use up so I decided to experiment a bit and make Pulled Pork Baked Beans.
This recipe is similar to most baked bean recipes out there with the exception of one ingredient: Apple Pit Filling. Yes you read that right. I know it sounds weird, but it adds a subtle sweet flavor to the beans.
If you plan to make your own pulled pork instead of buying pre-made from your local grocery store, you have a few options, but the important thing is that you cook it low and slow. You can cook the pork in a slow cooker as in this recipe, or in a pressure cooker if you have one. My preferred method is to smoke it but I realize many of you don’t have smokers.

Recipe Tips
- I recommend using regular Coca-Cola versus the sugar-free kind.
- When cooking the bacon, chop it up before adding it to the pot.
