    smoked cream cheese with crackers

One of the trends right now is Smoked Cream Cheese. Basically seasoning a block of cream cheese and smoking it for a couple of hours at a low temperature in your smoker.

I like to use Everything Bagel Seasoning but you can use whatever you want. I've seen some use a cinnamon-sugar mixture, bbq rub or even some jalapeños. The possibilities are almost endless.

Just be mindful that whatever you use should pair well with cream cheese. Next time I make this appetizer I might try some buffalo sauce or cinnamon with some apple pie filling. Sounds yummy to me!

Before you ask, no the cream cheese will not melt. I know this defies logic for some but trust me it won't melt. Just make sure you stick to the recommended temperatures between 200°F and 250°F for optimal results.

I initially made this appetizer for a Happy Hour get-together I was hosting at my house. Needless to say, this everything bagel cream cheese was a big hit with everyone. I should've made more than one it was that good.

    💭 Recipe Tip

While you can pretty much use any brand of cream cheese, I highly recommend you use Philadelphia brand cream cheese. You will taste the difference.

    💭 Recipe Variation

If you are not a fan of everything bagel we have a few options for you. You can coat the cream cheese in a cinnamon-sugar mixture, a dusting of crushed gingersnap cookies, or a mixture of dried minced onion and garlic powder.

You can also lightly cost the cream cheese in some olive oil with a light dusting of your favorite BBQ seasoning and top with some diced jalapeños and crumbled bacon.
