One of the things I love about living on the West Coast is our easy access to Tri-Tip. I love smoking tri-tip and making Smoked Tri-Tip BBQ Sandwiches out of it.

A typical size tri-tip will yield about 6 decent tri-tip sandwiches which is perfect if you have a large family or have guests over.

Unlike many other recipes made in the Smoker, this one is pretty straightforward. Simply season the meat, and let her cook in the smoker for 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the size of the tri-tip and your desired doneness.

As a reminder, you should always cook to temperature and not time which is why I always recommend using a good Digital Meat Thermometer to keep your cook on track.

Another reason this tri-tip sandwich recipe is easy to make is that you get to use your favorite brand of BBQ Sauce. I like to use Sweet Baby Ray’s for store-bought BBQ sauce but you can use whatever you prefer.

If you are in the mood to make your own BBQ sauce and need a little inspiration check out my assortment of BBQ Sauce Recipes.

If you are looking for some delicious sides to go with these BBQ Tri-Tip Sandwiches I suggest some Copycat Hard Rock Cafe BBQ Baked Beans, Old Fashioned Potato Salad or even some Macaroni Coleslaw Salad.
