I realize that describing these chocolate chip cookies as the best might be a stretch for some, but trust me. These are The Best Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies you will ever have.

Most of us have been eating cookies, and more specifically chocolate chip cookies since childhood. These cookies remind me of the cookies I used to eat as a kid and are absolutely fabulous!

Cake flour is different from all-purpose flour as it has a much lower protein level. Cakes made with cake flour will have a finer, more tender crumb than those made with all-purpose flour. That being said, in most cases, it is possible to substitute cake flour with all-purpose flour unless the cake is extremely tender (ex. angel food cake).

To use all purpose flour for this cookie recipe measure out 1 cup of all purpose flour, remove 2 tablespoons of the all purpose flour and replace it with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Whisk together before using.

To make oatmeal powder, add rolled oats to a blender and blend for about 15 seconds until you have a fine, powdery flour.

You will need the following ingredients to make this Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie recipe (see recipe card for quantities): Unsalted Butter, Cake Flour, Baking Soda, White Sugar, Oatmeal Powder, Chocolate Chips, Light Brown Sugar, Salt, Hershey Bar, Eggs, Baking Powder, Vanilla Extract and Walnuts.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, white sugar and brown sugar.
  3. Pour in the eggs and vanilla extract and mix till combined.
  4. Add the flour, oatmeal powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix till well combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, grated chocolate and optionally walnuts.
  6. Using a medium (2 tablespoons) cookie scoop, drop the dough 2 inches apart onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 14 minutes.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups Cake Flour, sifted
  • 2 ยฝ Cups Oatmeal Powder
  • ยฝ Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 12 oz Chocolate Chips
  • 4 oz Hershey Bar, grated
  • 1 ยฝ Cups Walnuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions
