Most of us have been eating cookies, and more specifically chocolate chip cookies since childhood. These cookies remind me of the cookies I used to eat as a kid and are absolutely fabulous!
But don’t take my word for it, go ahead and make these cookies and see for yourself. I double dare you to only eat one! If you want to try another fantastic cookie recipe, check out my Barbara Bushโs Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe.
What is Cake Flour
Cake flour is different from all-purpose flour as it has a much lower protein level. Cakes made with cake flour will have a finer, more tender crumb than those made with all-purpose flour. That being said, in most cases, it is possible to substitute cake flour with all-purpose flour unless the cake is extremely tender (ex. angel food cake).
Cake Flour Substitute
To use all purpose flour for this cookie recipe measure out 1 cup of all purpose flour, remove 2 tablespoons of the all purpose flour and replace it with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Whisk together before using.
Nut Allergy Warning
This recipe may contain peanuts or other nuts and seeds as one of its ingredients. Please take the appropriate precautions.
Recipe Tip
To make oatmeal powder, add rolled oats to a blender and blend for about 15 seconds until you have a fine, powdery flour.
