
My wife loves artichokes. She usually dips the leaves in melted butter or mayonnaise. I wanted her to try something new so I made her this Artichoke Dipping Sauce.
You only need 5 ingredients to make this sauce so it’s really easy to take your Artichoke game up a notch.

How to Prep and Cook Artichokes
Before you cook the artichokes you need to prep it. First, rinse it to remove any debris. Then cut the stem to create a flat base. Finally, use kitchen scissors to snip off the sharp tips from the remaining leaves.
Everyone has their preferred way of cooking artichoke. If you don’t have a lot of experience in doing so, here are some of the most common ways to cook artichoke.

How to Steam Artichokes
- Fill a saucepan with about 2 inches of water.
- Insert a steamer basket and bring the water to a boil.
- Place the artichokes in the steamer basket, cover the pot, and reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Steam for 25-45 minutes, or until the leaves pull away easily.

Gather your Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients to make this Artichoke Dipping Sauce recipe. For ingredient amounts please refer to the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Mayonnaise – Use a quality brand Mayonnaise like Hellman’s
- Garlic Cloves – You can use Garlic Paste or Garlic Powder as well
- Fresh Lemon Juice – If you don’t have fresh lemons on hand you can use the bottled stuff
- Dried Basil – If you have fresh basil on hand you can use that as well
- Worcestershire Sauce – The toughest ingredient to pronounce!
How to Make Artichoke Dipping Sauce
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise and garlic. Add the lemon juice and basil and mix until thoroughly combined. Add Worcestershire and mix well.
- Let the sauce sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. This will allow all the flavors to meld. You can use it immediately, but the longer you let it sit in the refrigerator, the more flavorful it will be.
