    copycat a&w onion rings

I love eating Onion Rings. And this is a great copycat recipe from A&W. These rings make a great side dish for Burgers and Hot dogs. And they are super easy to make as well!

I usually make my Beer Batter Onion Rings recipe but this time around I wanted to mix things up a bit. Onion rings are very easy to make and take less time than baking frozen french fries.

Since this is a copycat recipe, you want to use a White Onion for this recipe. This will help them taste as close as possible to the original A&W recipe. You can use whatever kind of beer you have on hand. I would suggest cheap beer since it will be used in a batter. Keep the good stuff for drinking!

    🍺 Recipe Note

A&W's original recipe most likely does not use beer. If you want to make these onion rings without beer, simply substitute for an equal amount of Club Soda.

    🥃 Alcohol Warning

Please take into consideration that some of the alcohol in this recipe may not completely burn off and the remains could be of significant concern to recovering alcoholics, parents, and others who have ethical or religious reasons for avoiding alcohol.

    💭 Deep Frying Oils

When it comes to Deep Frying food you want to choose an oil that has a high smoke point and neutral in flavor so it won't affect the flavor of whatever you are frying. Vegetable Oil, Corn Oil, Canola Oil and Peanut Oil are some of the more popular and affordable options.

If you are not familiar with A&W, they started serving its famous root beer back in 1919 in Lodi, California. A&W is the first American chain restaurant to reach the 100-year milestone.

    ⭐ Copycat Rating

Since the goal of a Copycat Recipe is for it to taste exactly like the original, it's only natural to rate this recipe against the original. This Copycat recipe rates a solid 10 out of 10 in my opinion.
