This Copycat Banana Bread recipe from Starbucks is on point. Easy to make using simple ingredients you should have in your pantry if you bake on a regular basis.

While Starbucks is mostly known for its Gourmet Coffee, they also offer tons of delicious baked goods. We’ve posted Copycat Recipes from Starbucks in the past and have never been disappointed.
Why spend a bunch of money on their baked goods (and coffee) when you can make it in the comfort of your own kitchen.

Adding nuts to banana bread is always a highly debated issue. Some love their banana bread with nuts while others despise it. Personally I can take it or leave it. I’ve made it both with and without walnuts and this banana bread is delicious either way.
Buttermilk Substitution
If you don’t have Buttermilk on hand, you can use this trick as a substitute: Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to a measuring cup. Add milk and fill to the 1 cup measurement line. Stir the mixture together and let sit for 5 minutes. Since this recipe calls for 2 tablespoons you will need to adjust accordingly.

Another option is to use a cultured buttermilk blend. All you need to do is add water. I was very skeptical at first but in a pinch it works great!

How To Pick Bananas
The best bananas for banana bread are when they are overripe, not yellow but black. Or they’re at least streaked with black/brown. The darker the better.
If you can’t find overripe bananas, you can speed up the process by putting the bananas in a paper bag along with an apple and loosely folding down the top. The bananas should ripen in just a day or two using this method.
Copycat Rating
Since the goal of a Copycat Recipe is for it to taste exactly like the original, it’s only natural to rate this recipe against the original. This Copycat recipe rates a solid 8 out of 10 in my opinion.
