    💭 Ingredient Substitution

If you prefer to use butter instead of the vegetable shortening, you can substitute for ½ Cup + 1 tablespoon of Unsalted Butter.

If you don't have any applesauce on hand and own a pressure cooker, you can make your very own homemade applesauce using my Instant Pot Applesauce Recipe. If you have some applesauce leftover after making this recipe, I would suggest using it to make my Spiced Applesauce Bread with Pecans. Yummy!

These brownies are delicious! They are light and airy - more like a cake. They pair perfectly with the rich decadent frosting. If you love chocolate you will love these brownies.
