    root beer baked beans

There's nothing better than baked beans when having a BBQ. There's just something about that combination of flavors that make it a BBQ. Everyone seems to have their own favorite baked bean recipe and here is mine, Root Beer Baked Beans!

baked beans ingredients in dutch oven

I've posted baked bean recipes before (Ranch Style Beans and Sweet Mango Baked Beans) but this baked beans recipe is my favorite. The weird thing is I was never a fan of Root Beer growing up. Go figure!

    💭 Recipe Tip

You can also make these baked beans on the stovetop in a large pot or dutch oven. Let all the ingredients simmer over low heat for 3-4 hours desired consistency is reached.

Do you ever wonder where baked beans come from? I mean baking beans must've been around for hundreds of years right? Since I have a curious mind, I decided to visit my favorite site to look up the history of baked beans. This is what I learned about the history of baked beans.

    🥓 How to Make Bacon

If you struggle to make bacon perfectly, I've put together a short tutorial on How to Make Perfect Bacon - 3 Ways. Check it out! My preferred method is baking it in the oven.

And don't throw away that bacon grease! Bacon is expensive and the grease is great for making Scrambled Eggs, Grilled Cheese, Popcorn and even hash browns. It can keep up to 3 months if properly stored in the refrigerator.

    💭 Slow Cooker Tip

Try to resist as much as possible the temptation to open the lid while it's cooking as the slow cooker loses heat. By just opening the lid to stir the contents can make the internal temperature drop by 10°F to 15°F.

This recipe is great. I love chili and baked beans, so this was a great recipe to try. It was east to make and turned out delicious. It is one of those recipes that you can make and hopefully have leftovers for the next day. Very tasty.

If someone had told me to use Root Beer when making baked beans I would have said no way. I made this recipe with the root beer and it was just delicious. Will never make it without Root Beer again. So good.
