I love making burgers. Okay, let’s be real—I love eating burgers even more. But since I’ve been cutting back on carbs lately, I wanted to find a way to enjoy all those classic cheeseburger flavors without the bun. Sure, wrapping everything in lettuce is an option, but this time I decided to think outside the of burger box, and roll it all up into a burrito instead.
The result? A mouthwatering cheeseburger… just without the bun! Exactly what I was going for. It’s got all the juicy, cheesy goodness you’d expect from a classic cheeseburger, but wrapped in a warm tortilla. Best of all, it’s super easy to make with the same ingredients you’d use for your favorite burger.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- This burrito gives you all the juicy, cheesy goodness of a classic cheeseburger wrapped up in a low-carb-friendly tortilla instead of a traditional bun.
- You’ll only need a few simple ingredients and about 30 minutes from start to finish. Perfect for weeknights!
- Add your favorite burger toppings like pickles, sautéed onions, or even a drizzle of special sauce.
- These burritos reheat beautifully, making them a great option for lunches or grab-and-go dinners.
- All the flavors kids love, with a fun twist that’s easy to hold and eat.
Recipe Variation
This cheeseburger burrito recipe is super flexible, so feel free to mix it up! Swap out the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option. Add jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce if you want to spice things up. For a bacon cheeseburger twist, toss in some crispy bacon crumbles. You can even experiment with different cheeses—cheddar, pepper jack, or even blue cheese if you’re feeling bold. And if you’re avoiding tortillas, try wrapping the filling in a large lettuce leaf for a low-carb lettuce wrap version.
Serving Suggestions
Serve your cheeseburger burrito with a side of fries, tortilla chips or a simple green salad. Want a dipping sauce? You can use a ketchup-mayo mix, spicy mustard, or even a drizzle of comeback sauce for extra flavor.
How to Soften Tortillas
When the time comes to warm up your tortillas, you have a few options. You can wrap the tortillas in foil and bake them for 10 minutes at 350°F. You can also put them in a non-stick pan to heat both sides of the tortilla (this is how I usually do it), heat them over an open flame, or if you must, wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave them for about 30 seconds.
