donkey sauce for burgers

I will admit that I’m a fan of Guy Fieri’s. Not so much his flair but the type of food he likes to make. Ok and maybe his taste in cars.

And this Donkey Sauce for Burgers recipe is a good example of that. So if you’ve ever wondered what is in Guy Fieri’s donkey sauce, read on!

I don’t remember if I originally saw this recipe on TV or in one of Guy Fieri’s cookbooks but all I remember is he was making some gourmet burgers and topped it with something he called Donkey Sauce. So I absolutely had to figure out how to make Guy Fieri’s Donkey Sauce.

Naturally, I decided to look into it as I wanted to make this donkey sauce recipe for myself and give it a try the next time I made burgers.

There’s not much to this sauce recipe to be honest. The usual mayonnaise with a few other ingredients added to it and that’s it!

If you are going to roast your own minced garlic versus buying some in a jar, make sure you don’t burn it.

The easiest way is to add some olive oil to a skillet and roast it over low heat stirring often. There’s nothing worse than burnt garlic so be careful.

Tips

  • Let the sauce sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. This will allow all the flavors to meld. You can use it immediately, but the longer you let it sit in the refrigerator, the more flavorful it will be.

Nice addition to any burger, well done👍

  2. Eric Andre says:

Sounds like a good recipe, but you might want to look up “roast” in a dictionary. Cooking something in oil in a skillet is called sautéeing… definitely not roasting!
