My good friend Jan's husband shared his favorite Blue Cheese Salad Dressing recipe that he's been making for decades. I love Blue Cheese and LOVED this dressing on my salad.

When making green salads I like to experiment with different kinds of dressings. The first time I was offered to try this blue cheese salad dressing I knew right away I needed to get his recipe.

Up until this recipe, my favorite homemade salad dressing recipe was my Superb Jalapeño Salad Dressing. Salad Dressing with a kick!

    💭 Recipe Variation

For extra Blue Cheese flavor, melt another 2-4 oz of blue cheese and add to the mayonnaise and sour cream mixture in step #2.

    💭 Ingredient Substitution

You can use fresh tarragon instead of the ground tarragon. Like I always say, use what you got on hand!

    💭 Recipe Tip

I strongly suggest you do a taste test before you add the salt to the mixture. Blue Cheese can be salty so you may not need to add more salt.

    💭 Serving Suggestions

In addition to using it on your salad, this dressing also makes a perfect dip for spicy chicken wings, raw vegetables, or in Sandwiches & Wraps.

    📋 Gather your Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients to make this Blue Cheese Salad Dressing recipe (see recipe card for quantities): Sour Cream, Mayonnaise, Worcestershire Sauce, Fresh Lemon Juice, Ground Dry Mustard, Dried Tarragon, Garlic Powder, Salt, White Pepper and Blue Cheese.

🥣 How to Make Blue Cheese Salad Dressing

In a small saucepan, melt the blue cheese.
In a mixing bowl, add the melted blue cheese and mix with the sour cream and mayonnaise.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix till well combined.
Let the dressing sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator (the longer the better). This will allow all the flavors to meld. You can use it immediately, but the longer you let it sit in the refrigerator, the more flavorful it will be.
