This Tasty Pasta Tuna Salad is a great alternative to your typical macaroni salad. A nice addition to your pasta salad collection
When I was a kid growing up, my mom often made me tuna fish sandwiches for lunch. Head on over to my Lemon Pepper Tuna Fish Sandwich to find out more.
Over the years though I burnt out on tuna fish and probably didn’t have any for a decade or more. And then came along this Tasty Pasta Tuna Salad.
Recently I attended a BBQ and had to bring a side dish. I was tired of always making Macaroni Salad so I decided to make this pasta tuna salad. Needless to say, it was a hit with everyone at the BBQ!
Apparently, there are some people out there that don’t like peas. If you are any of your guests hate peas as my wife does, you can either omit them or replace with different veg like chopped broccoli.
How to Make Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs
Now you are probably wondering how to make the perfect hard-boiled egg. Here’s how I like to do it.
Fill a pot with cold water. Add the eggs ensuring they are covered with water. Bring the water to a boil. Turn off the heat and cover and let sit for 13 minutes. Not 12 minutes. Not 14 minutes. 13 minutes.
Remove the eggs from the pot and place them in an ice bath for 5 minutes. This will prevent the eggs from cooking further AND make them easier to peel. Voila!
What is Al Dente
Make sure you cook the pasta Al Dente according to the directions on the package. You don’t want your pasta salad to be too mushy. Unless you like it like that I guess.
