Ingredients

Everyone knows that having BBQ sauce on hand at all times is a must. Whether you are grilling steaks, ribs, burgers, you need a good BBQ sauce. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I discovered just how easy it is to make your very own BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce recipes almost always includes ketchup, vinegar and spices. And this gem of a recipe is no different.

There are several different variations of this Sweet Whiskey BBQ Sauce floating around on the Internet but after some trial and error, this is what I ended up with for my go-to Whiskey BBQ Sauce. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

And while this BBQ sauce is great for dipping chicken tenders, you might want to check out my White BBQ Sauce

How to Make this Recipe

1
Done

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened over medium-low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes stirring frequently with a wire whisk.

2
Done

Pour into your favorite dispenser and let cool before refrigerating. Sauce should thicken as it cools.

Chef's Notes

- If you don't have dark brown sugar on hand you can substitute for light brown sugar with 1 Tablespoon of Molasses.

- While Jack Daniel's yields the best flavor, you can substitute for any other whiskey you have laying around the house.
